OUR TOP 5 FAVORITE DELIVERIES

2021 was a big year for us here at DROP Structures.

Not only did we build over 100 units through the past 12 months, but we’ve worked with some of the most creative clients to deliver structures across North America – from east coast to west coast.

Before we forge ahead into a new year filled with high expectations and exciting new projects, we’d like to take a moment and share some of our favorite units from 2021 with you.

Ready? Here we go.

THE LAKEHOUSE(S)

These two Monos on the shores of Lake Coeur D’Alene serve as sunrooms, guest houses or as tiny escape pods with a view depending on the owner’s requirements at the time. With full glass front and back, side windows and skylights, the rooms are suffused with light and feature clear lake views.

The “Lighthouse”

While not technically a lighthouse, this Mono Mini was placed on a trailer to keep its footprint light, so we think it qualifies. This was done not only to make sure the cabin can be moved without leaving a trace but also to allow the owners to sidestep permitting in their area. Currently, it sits on the shores of Kootenay Lake in the southern Canadian Rockies and it’s used as a four-season getaway for its owners.

The One with the Panormamic Mountain Views

Placing this Holo high up on Brundage Mountain in Payette National Forest required a bit of creativity, a touch of skill and a bout of good weather to make it happen — and the results are worth it. Doubling as a ski hut and a sales structure for the resort development around the ski hill, this tiny ski chalet features ski-in/out access and gorgeous views of snow-capped mountains through both front and back glass.

The Midpoint Haven

Placed near Flathead National Forest, this Holo Plus serves as a midpoint meeting place for a family straddling both country and urban living. After too much time apart in the city, the clan meets here in the wilds of Montana to escape their worries and spend some quality time together. Featuring a bathroom and a loft, this getaway offers overnight amenities for mom and dad, while the surrounding property has plenty of room to camp.

The Off-Grid Getaway

Just outside Green Mountain National Forest, this Holo Off-Grid offers a tranquil space well off the beaten path. Featuring a wood stove, an incinerating toilet and our in-house designed pump sink, this unit is a completely self-sufficient cabin that allows its owners the untethered freedom to enjoy all the amenities of home far from the constant hustle of civilization.

Plus, a Couple More We Really Enjoyed

While the above units boast some of the most beautiful views we’ve seen yet — and as a result, the most beautiful photos — we couldn’t constrain ourselves to share just five of our favorite structures with you.

So, here are two more DROP Structures we had a blast building and delivering:

A WRITER’S GETAWAY

Built for a writer of children’s books, horror stories and Hollywood films, this unit sits on the edge of a vineyard, just off the shores of Lake Okanagan in B.C. Canada. With epic and inspiring views in every direction, there should be quite a few great stories coming out of this Mono.

A BACKYARD MUSIC STUDIO

This Alpha plus sits in the backyard of a sound engineer in Seattle, Washington. Because it’s being used as a sound mixing booth/studio, sound deadening was high on the list of priorities for this client. To make sure it matched his expectations, we built a unique fan setup to stop noise leakage and added double-thick drywalling to keep the interior dead-quiet even in the middle of the city.
