DREAM OUTSIDE THE BOX: SIMPLE SOLUTIONS IN ELEGANT FORM

Us

Definitions place ideas inside neat little boxes – boxes that come with all kinds of stipulations, names, best practices and rules, specifying who and what they’re for.

In our industry, small structures become tiny homes, ADUs, backyard offices, she-sheds, cabins – the list goes on.

But there’s so much to explore outside all those neat little boxes.

Mini chalets

Micro-resorts

Backyard recording studios

These projects, the ones we’d never even dreamed of, are our favorites. They open our eyes to new vistas and opportunities, new ways to see our own products that help us grow.

And that’s what a DROP Structure is created for – to house the unique dreams and vision of each client.

Simple solutions to accommodate every vision

We’re known for the aesthetics of our designs, but elegant form comes second in our tagline.

That’s because DROP Structures isn’t about design or construction (or at least not primarily) – it’s about the client (aka you).

Design is an essential piece of that, and we are inspired by both working with our clients to optimize layouts and colors, and through designing new or custom units from scratch.

But that’s all hollow without the human element.

So, in every new structure, our first concern is to make sure there’s room for the client – their thoughts, wishes, dreams and the people closest to them.

When we leave space for our clients to dream, they see opportunities we’d never even considered, in places we’d never heard of.

That is endlessly inspiring.

It’s also why we return again and again to talk with clients who have already bought DROP Structures, uncovering the stories that animate their vision. And, it’s why we love to share these stories with you on our blog, YouTube and Instagram.

By keeping every DROP Structure simple (and editing out our own ‘shoulds’ and ‘coulds’), we open the door for more possibilities, more solutions and more creativity from our clients.

So when someone has a dream that doesn’t fit into a defined box, that overflows and inspires, they come to us.

We wouldn’t want it any other way.

Elegant forms that enhance any environment

That creates a philosophy of collaboration that drives us forward. After that, the work starts, designing, drafting and building a structure that can handle all the different definitions while maintaining its simplicity and (here’s where the second part comes in) its aesthetic.

Our main goal with design is to make each structure we build enhance the natural environment surrounding it – whether it’s lost amid trees, perched on a mountainside, or nestled in a backyard.

That means removing every distraction that confuses the eye, or detracts from the view so that the client decides what is necessary to add.

Then, protected by the controlled environment of our facility, we can focus on building a quality structure that’s ready to take on the dreams of each and every client.

Some prefer to lean into the clean, modernist design, adding only what’s strictly necessary – often all in white.

Others approach the white interior as their own blank canvas, painting vibrant designs with bright furniture and art, breathing life into the space with greenery, or warming it up with leather chairs and a glass of whiskey.

Whatever they bring to their structure, the result is defined by their vision, their purpose.

How will you define your DROP Structure?

We don’t build boxes. We build spaces that our clients can bring their dreams to, without definitions or preconceptions to distract or disrupt their creativity.

That’s why our favourite question for new clients is, “What will you use your DROP Structure for?”
